Purpose: Studies have pointed to the transfer problem in the workplace, indicating that training transfer would diminish over time. Incorporating personality into the theory of planned behavior, hence, this study aimed at examining training transfer among librarians, i.e., application of media literacy in the workplace.
Method: This study involved a correlational design. The population consisted of all the librarians participating in the media literacy training program that totaled 191 individuals. To collect data, two survey questionnaires were employed, namely, a researcher developed theory of planned behavior questionnaire and a standard personality scale. Structural equation modelling was used to analyze data by means of Smart PLS2.
Results: Results showed that attitude, SN, and PBC significantly predicted new teachers’ intention to use pedagogical skills. In addition, results demonstrated that PBC and intention were significant predictors of new teachers’ actual use of pedagogical skills. Also, results indicated that only conscientiousness can moderate the relationship between intention and actual use of pedagogical skills among new teachers.
Conclutions: Altogether, results showed the proposed model is able to predict actual use of pedagogical skills among new teachers.
