Purpose: The present research was conducted with the aim of identifying and ranking the barriers of documenting experiences in public libraries of Qom province.
Methods: In terms of the type of research, the research is applied with a mixed exploratory approach. In terms of method, it is descriptive-combined, and Delphi survey and survey were used simultaneously. In the Delphi phase, documentation obstacles were identified and the ranking of the obstacles was done in the survey section. The research includes two statistical populations; First, subject experts, and second, officials and employees of public libraries in Qom province. From the first statistical population, a targeted sample and from the second population, 62 people were randomly selected.  After reading the texts, the initial list of identified documentation barriers was provided to the panel members and the output of the Delphi panel stage was used to create a questionnaire. Measuring the accuracy and reliability of qualitative data based on the criteria of validity, reliability, verifiability and transferability, and the validity of the questionnaire was checked in the form of content validity. For this purpose, the questionnaire was approved by 3 expert professors of information science and science. Cronbach's alpha was also used to confirm the reliability of the questionnaire and its value was reported as 0.949.
 Findings: The findings showed that the barriers are classified in 7 categories: personal, educational, organizational culture, organizational structure, technological, economic and social barriers, and based on the ranking, individual barriers have the greatest deterrent power in the implementation of documenting experiences.
Originality / Value:  The results of this research provide an understanding of the barriers to documentation, and their use by decision-making institutions can be effective in the field of organizational development and competitive advantage.
