A Bibliographic Approach to fundamental issues of Knowledge and Information Science education in Iran

Purpose: Knowledge and Information Science education in Iran has always been the focus of researchers. Therefore, this study aimed to present a picture of the fundamental issues of Knowledge and Information Science education. Methods: This study using systematic review, content analysis and co-word analysis was performed. Findings: findings were presented in seventeen categories. These include Pathology, seeking a model for learning, searching for specific theory or model for education, curriculum content, training history, the name field and its businesses, School of Knowledge and Information Science, specialization, futures, attitude to discipline, employment and the labor market, training and education needs of librarians, quality assessment and accreditation, distance learning, ICT and education, educational resources, and other issues related to Knowledge and Information Science education. Originality/value: The dynamics of Knowledge and Information Science Education depends on internal and external key driving forces. The results showed that researchers pay less attention to external driving forces influencing Knowledge and Information Science education. Also, since the image of the research subjects of KIS education in Iran is not provided.
