The effect of social networks on the study of adolescents Case study: high school students in Tehran SAMA schools

The present study aims to recognize the effects of social networks on the study of high school students in Tehran SAMA schools. Research method was analytical survey, and data collection instrument was a questionnaire. A sample of 250 students were selected using Cochran formula. Results showed that the students daily lesson study is moderate (3/05) and the daily non-lesson study of them was low (2/52). The students average daily use of social networks was (&mu= 2/92). There was an inverse correlation between the use of social-networks and lesson study of students. While the correlation between the use of social-networks and non-lesson study of students were direct. The majority of students believed that using social networks is one of the inhibiting factors of the reading and study. The results generally showed that with increasing the use of social networks lesson study of student decreases, and with increasing the use of social networks increases the amount of non-lesson study of the students.
