Purpose: Libraries are known as one of the most important knowledge-based organizations whose main activities revolve around information and knowledge. In this regard, knowledge sharing by librarians of public libraries has a special importance and position due to the confrontation with a wide range of people in the society. Sharing knowledge in organizations provides the necessary background to acquire and gain the added value of knowledge slow Intergenerational knowledge is one of the factors influencing the preservation of intra-organizational knowledge. Based on this, the current research has investigated the moderating role of intergenerational knowledge in the relationship between autonomy, task interdependence, and the importance of tasks with sharing the tacit knowledge of Librarians of public libraries in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad provinces.
Method: The method of this research is of applied type, which is descriptive-survey data collection. The current research population included all the librarians of the public libraries of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad provinces in 2022, and 119 of these people were selected by random sampling to complete the questionnaire. Collecting data through the questionnaires of Connelly et al. knowledge sharing (2012), Kaldi & Xafakos Self-determination (2017), Elmi Intergenerational knowledge (2020) and Oldham & Hackman Importance of duties (1987), Pearce & Gregersen Task Interdependence (1991) has been done. Data analysis was done by the structural equation method and using Lisrel software.
Findings: The results of the research showed that autonomy, task importance and task interdependence are positively related to tacit knowledge sharing. Also, intergenerational knowledge moderates the relationship between task interdependence and tacit knowledge sharing. In addition, the results showed that intergenerational knowledge did not moderate the relationship between autonomy and task importance with tacit knowledge sharing.
Originality/value: The present research has been conducted for the first time among librarians of public libraries. According to this study, the sharing of tacit knowledge and intergenerational knowledge causes collective learning and increases synergy in groups. This important thing improves the share of knowledge available to the organization to improve the performance of the organization. If a platform is created in the organization where the sharing and exchange of ideas, knowledge and information is considered valuable, the knowledge sharing culture can include individual and organizational spiritual results, and as a result, the organization benefits from the mutual dependence of tasks on the behavior of tacit knowledge sharing. benefit The importance and necessity of this issue in public libraries is due to the fact that by researching the factors affecting knowledge sharing among public library librarians, it is possible to find solutions to provide a suitable platform for making knowledge sharing a reality in the environment of public libraries. Identifying the relationship between different factors on the behavior of knowledge sharing at the level of public libraries leads to the enrichment of these interactions and creates a positive view in this relationship among all sections of the society.
