The purpose of the study: To investigate the use of social networks by users of public libraries Tonekabon City, in order to determine the extent to which these networks, services tailored to the characteristics of each network is presented to the user.
Research Methodology: This study is applied and descriptive. The population in this study includes 234 users of public libraries in the Tonekabon city which were selected based on stratified sampling. To collect the data and to analyze the data using descriptive and inferential statistics, statistical tests such as Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Friedman and Pearson correlation coefficient was used.
Research Findings: Findings show that in terms of priority the use of social networks, in general, groups of social networking sites with an average (6/57) Most groups of books and reading means the average (5.24), lowest usage among its members account. Also, the use of social networking groups, among groups of social networking sites, Facebook with an average of 2/68, the Group combination of web - mobile, Telegram, with an average 3.88; amongst the group of tools Multimedia, Skype with an average of 2/32 and between books and reading tools, Reader professional network to the average 2/45 network, the most widely used, respectively.
Originality/ Value: The value of the present article is in the general information of public librarians about the use of a variety of social networking tools, and the explanation that each group of social networks has a variety of functions in expediting the delivery of services to users.
