Informatics deals with the question of the nature of information.Luciano Floridi and Rafael Caporro are among the philosophers who have addressed this question.Floridi seeks to answer this question in the form of the philosophy of information.Floridi considers information to be data with a meaningful and true order. In his view, we do not have pure data in itself, and therefore information is always dependent on a certain level of abstraction. In contrast, Caporro tries to answer the question of what information is within the framework of Heidegger's existential hermeneutics. In his view, information is an aspect of the existence of Dasein that refers to being-in-the-world-with-others.That is why Caporro emphasizes the hermeneutic-rhetorical aspect of information science or angelic. The basic idea common to Floridi and Caporro is that information always has ontological commitments and orientations and is conditioned by a specific horizon of meanings.Accordingly, the implications of Floridi's and Caporu's opinions in librarianship and information science are discussed.
