Mapping Scientific outputs of Public Libraries Using Co-word Network Analysis

Purpose: this study aims to draw scientific map and cluster analysis articles Of public libraries indexed in Web Of Science utilizing co-word analysis.
Methodology: This research is an applied research using the co-word analysis method. The research community is comprised of all articles indexed on the Web of  Science on public libraries, of which 1164 records. Data analysis was performed using three softwares BibExcel, VosVeiwer, and Netdare.
Results: Data analysis showed that the key words of "Public Libraries-Usniversity Libraries", "Internet - Public Libraries", and "Library Services-Public Libraries" were the most frequency. On the other hand, keyword cluster analysis showed that 11 main clusters were generated, and "social issues", "social media", "information storage and retrieval technologies", " Health information”, “books and related topics”, “library policies”, “ resource sharing”, “social interactions of libraries”, “communication with other types of libraries”, “development and censorship, In the collection” and “management” are the most important tendencies of the research community in the field of public libraries at the international level.
Value: The evolving nature of the information resources and the changing needs of the audience, as well as the social issues and challenges affect the content of research in the field of public libraries. Obviously, in order to understand the clear picture of these changes, content analysis studies - especially synoptic analysis studies - can help map the dynamism of science in the field of public libraries.
