Abstract: (4267 Views)
Purpose: The present study aims to investigate the effect of using information technology (IT) on agility of the Library, Museum and Documentation Center of Islamic Consultative Assembly.
Methodology: This is an applied research in terms of purpose and a descriptive-survey research in terms of nature and type of research. The study population included all the employees and managers of the Library, Museum and Documentation Center of Islamic Consultative Assembly. Sampling was not performed due to the limited size of the population. To assess the IT penetration coefficient, Davis' (1989) model was applied and to compute the organizational agility coefficient, Sharifi and Zhang's (1999) model was utilized. The data collection was conducted through questionnaires, the reliability of which was measured by Cronbach’s alpha. For data analysis, the responses were transferred to computer by using SPSS 23 and smart PLS, and then analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics. After measuring the normality of the data, Spearman correlation coefficients and partial least squares structural equation modeling were used. Moreover, The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used to evaluate the normality of the data.
Findings: The results showed that IT has had a significant effect on organizational agility. In other words, the perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude towards using, behavioral intention to use, and actual using IT has a significant effect on agility. Furthermore, it was found that IT variables have a significant positive effect on agility of the Library, Museum and Documentation Center of Islamic Consultative Assembly, that is to say, by increasing IT variables the agility would increase.
Originality/value: The results indicate that using IT affects organizational agility, and it can be said that IT can cause speed, responsiveness, competence and flexibility. Applying the mechanisms of IT systems can enable greater agility and thus can optimize services.
