Purpose: The purpose of current is to study creative economy, entrepreneurship and income generation in Iranian public
libraries from the perspective of researchers in the field of library and librarianship in order to determine the priorities of the
application of creative economics in the management of public libraries in Iran.
Method: The present research is a systematic study and its statistical population included all the researches conducted in
the field of creative economy, entrepreneurship and income generation in public libraries that were published by researchers
in Google Scholar, Lisa, Science Direct, Emerald, Elmnet, Magiran, Noormags and Islamic World Science Citation Center
during the last 30 years. This study was designed and conducted in three main steps. In the first step, after posing the main
questions of the research, the procedure for its implementation was specified and compiled, and the relevant databases were
identified based on a specified framework. In the second step, searching for articles was on the agenda, and after finding each
article and validation of data, screening and evaluation were performed. In the third step, the data were analyzed by statistical
method and then it was interpreted and finally was reported.
Findings: The findings showed that out of the 60 researches studied, 40 percent were Persian and 60 percent were nonPersian. 43.3 percent of the researches referred to the subject of entrepreneurship and 18.3 percent to the subject of income
generation, which indicated a ratio of more than 2 times between the subject of entrepreneurship and the subject of income
generation. Entrepreneurship and income generation have been mentioned in the studied researches as new opportunities to
strengthen the preservation of public service values. 21.6 percent of the researches pointed to the legal obstacles and professional ethical principles as the biggest challenge of the creative economy in public libraries, which may affect the basic missions of free services of public libraries. The fact that was emphasized in the studied researches was the lack of familiarity of
librarians with the skills of income generation and product marketing, which necessitates holding workshops and short-term
trainings.
Originality/value: Public libraries, like any other service organization, need budget and financial resources to achieve
their desired goals, but today the tough sanctions and the current situation of the economy of the society have caused an
excessive increase in the costs of public libraries, and the principle of free public services has been challenged. The studies
show that the creative economy approach is a suitable way to get out of the current situation. Creative economy in cultural and
social environments, especially in public libraries, while it can create added value, is also fully compatible with their ethical
and professional principles. Therefore, the current research considers the creative economy as a great opportunity for public
library managers. By benefiting from the facilities available in the libraries, managers can reduce the dependence on the organizational budget step by step by earning creative income as well as increase the quality of free public services and move in
the direction of resource sustainability and budget deficit compensation.

Purpose: The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the status of rural libraries services in East Azarbaijan province and
surveying the villagers’ viewpoints on the libraries’ effect on the reduction of social deprivation.
Method: The current research is applied in terms of research objectives and descriptive in terms of data collection, which
was carried out using a survey method. Data were collected using a researcher-made questionnaire. The questionnaire’s reliability value based on Alpha Cronbach is 0.79 as and its validity was confirmed by experts. The statistical population of this
research includes the users of 18 rural libraries operating in East Azarbaijan province, who numbered 43,635. From these
people, 380 ones were selected as the research sample according to Krejcie and Morgan’s formula for sample size. The data
were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics including t-test.
Findings: Based on the results, different types of services were identified provided by rural libraries of East Azarbaijan
Province. “Making books accessible” is a role that most of the respondents believe that their respective rural libraries do perform. On the other hand, most of the respondents believed that the rural library of their region does not fulfill its role well in
the “dissemination of information resources and providing services in the local language” and “making electronic and internet
resources accessible”. Regarding the barriers to the use of rural libraries, “the disproportion of the provided services to the needs
of the villagers” was identified as the biggest obstacle to the use of rural libraries in East Azarbaijan province. From the viewpoint of rural users, the effect of rural libraries on the “sense of citizenship” and “life satisfaction” is moderate, while the effect
of rural libraries on the social alienation (negagtive impact) and social interaction is slightly higher than average.
Originality/value: The contributions of this research are in investigating the role of rural libraries in East Azarbaijan province in providing information services and in identifying the views of rural library users on the effect of libraries in reducing
social deprivation.

Purpose: Today, Collaborative information seeking behavior has been an issue of concern to many researchers and is
considered necessary to meet the information needs and solve problems that are difficult and complex for individuals. The
purpose of this study is to identify the impact of trust on collaborative information seeking behaviors of postgraduate students
of Shiraz University.
Method: The present study is quantitative in terms of the nature of the data and descriptive-correlational in terms of the
data collection method. The statistical population included all graduate students of Shiraz University in 1399, and the sample
consisted of 302 students from different faculties who were selected based on Morgan table. Data collection was carried out
through two questionnaires. The first questionnaire measured the tendency to collaborative information seeking behavior, which
was made through studying the texts related to the field of collaborative information seeking behavior, and by extracting related
items. Furthermore, the questionnaire of Costa and Anderson (2011) was used to measure the level of trust. In order to measure
the validity of the form and content of the questionnaires, the opinions of seven experts in information science and epistemology
were used. The reliability of the collaborative information seeking behavior questionnaire using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient
with a value of 0.91 and the reliability of the trust questionnaire for the subcomponents of trust, i.e. the tendency to trust, perceived trustworthiness, cooperative behaviors and monitoring behaviors, were obtained 0.78, 88. 0, 0.87 and 0.70 respectively.
Findings: The results of this research provided further evidence that the tendency to collaborative information seeking
behavior can be predicted by the variable of trust (40. 5%). Among the sub-components of trust, the perceived trustworthiness
sub-component had the greatest effect (32. 9%) on the tendency to collaborative information seeking behavior, followed by
cooperative behaviors (31.8 %) and the propensity to trust (9 %), are placed. Indeed, in addition to its positive effects, trust can
also lead to negative effects; In other words, higher levels of trust do not necessarily encourage cooperation because complete
trust makes people rely on others and no longer have control over the work process or create a field for others to abuse.
Originality/value: Despite the potential for trust in predicting collaborative activities, no research has been conducted to
examine the role of trust in collaborative information seeking behaviors. The results of the research can lead to a better understanding of the factors affecting collaborative information seeking behaviors. The results of this study will also help all researchers, professors and managers to identify important sub-components of trust, to strengthen and improve these sub-components,
and facilitate the desire for collaborative information-seeking behavior

Purpose: A review of texts in Persian language shows that most of the researches in the field of reading are focused
on free or leisure reading and Iranian researchers have not studied academic reading. Perhaps one of the reasons for
not conducting research in this field is the lack of appropriate tools. Therefore, this research was conducted in order
to check the adequacy of the psychometric properties and validate the reading attitude questionnaire of Isakson et
al (2016).
Method: This research is designed with a quantitative approach in order to describe the psychometric characteristics
of the attitude towards academic reading questionnaire. The statistical population of this research included the
students of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz, who were studying in this university in the first half of the
academic year of 1401-1400 SH. Using stratified sampling, 890 students were selected as samples. To validate
this tool, apparent and content validity indices were measured. Confirmatory factor analysis was also utilized to
evaluate the validity of the structure. Multi-value question-answer models were used to analyze the questionnaire
items, and Cronbach’s alpha was used to assess the reliability of this questionnaire.
Findings: In the development of the research tool, a structure with three factors was used, whose factors are:
academic reading behaviors, self-efficacy in academic reading, and evaluation for academic reading. The
appearance validity of the questionnaire items was confirmed, and the content validity test showed a meaningful
relationship between items and factors. The confirmatory factor analysis for these three factors showed that this
model provides an appropriate structure to measure the attitude to academic reading and there exists a good fit
between this proposed model and experimental data. The items of this questionnaire, in addition to having a good
fit with the multi-valued answer question models, have the appropriate clean power at different levels of people’s
attitudes. Examination of the reliability coefficient in this questionnaire showed that both the individual factors and
the questionnaire, in general, are at a desirable level of stability and reliability.
Originality/value: There is no suitable tool in the Persian language that can properly assess the attitude towards
academic reading. Therefore, a lack of appropriate tool in this area can be seen. This tool can be used in educational
research to assess the causes of academic achievement or failure of students, as well as to study their study and
learning styles. The most common use of this tool in tests is to measure reading ability at the beginning of reading
improvement courses in schools and universities or other reading education intervention programs.

The most common use of this tool in tests is to measure reading ability at the beginning of reading
improvement courses in schools and universities or other reading education intervention programs.</OtherAbstract>

Purpose: The present study aimed at discovering the status of the public libraries affiliated with Iran Public
Libraries Foundation in terms of their services to the disabled (physically disabled, blind and visually impaired,
deaf and hard of hearing people).
Method: The present research is an applied study in terms of purpose and is a survey in terms of implementation, that was carried out within a certain period. The research population consisted of all public libraries affiliated
with Iran Public Libraries Foundation. The data gathering tool was a researcher-made questionnaire. To analyze the
data, SPSS 23 was used.
Findings: The findings showed that in terms of services to different groups of the disabled, 50% of libraries
provide services to the physically disabled, but only 11% of libraries provide services to the deaf and hard of hearing, and 12% provide services to the blind and visually impaired people. The status of services of the investigated
libraries in the 7 categories of services and activities (including policymaking and budget, library accessibility and
physical structure, advertising and service development, ancillary services and programs, collection, staff training,
and auxiliary technologies and equipment) was under average. The highest average belonged to library accessibility
and physical structure (2.49) and staff training (1.49) was the lowest average among the public library services. In
the policymaking and budget category, the manager’s support for delivering services to the disabled is in the first
rank. In the category of library accessibility and physical structure, most of the libraries (84.9%) were equipped
with suitable light and only 7.7% of them had toilets. In the advertising and service development category, informing library activities and programs through multiple channels was the most important factor. In the staff training
category, most of the libraries suffered from qualified librarians. the familiarity of librarians and managers with the
types of disabilities and the services they need and the existence of trained librarians are not in a good condition
(1.4). In the category of auxiliary technologies and equipment, the most important equipment was scanner that
existed in 632 libraries (6.2%).
Originality/value: Libraries must pay attention to the needs and expectations of people with disabilities. The
study of the status of public libraries in providing services to the disabled has not been done to such an extent. The
findings of this study can pave the way for public library administrators, and librarians to provide better services
to this group of society.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between knowledge management and organizational
learning among public librarians in Fars province.
Method: This study is an applied study which was conducted using the descriptive-correlational method. The statistical
population included all librarians of public libraries in Fars province in 1400 (322 people), from whom 175 librarians were selected as the research sample using simple random sampling. In order to collect people’s opinions, Bukowitz and Williams (1999)
standard knowledge management questionnaire and organizational learning questionnaire based on Neefe theory (2001) were
used. In order to analyze the data, SPSS software version 22. and descriptive statistical methods such as frequency, percentage,
mean, standard deviation, and in inferential statistics, Pearson correlation test and multiple linear regression were used.
Findings: The results of correlation coefficient showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge management (KM) and organizational learning (OL) among the librarians of public libraries in Fars province. Furthermore, among
KM’s components, knowledge production and consolidation and sharing had the most correlation with OL (respectively 0.900
and 0/898 correlation coefficients). Moreover, the result of multiple linear regression showed that there is a 100-percent common
variance between KM and OL. The production and consolidation component is the strongest predictor for OL (Beta=0.197).
This research showed that knowledge production and consolidation component (acquisition of required skills in accordance with
organizational goals) and knowledge sharing (transfer and sharing of effective individual and organizational experiences) have
the greatest relationship and impact on the promotion and improvement of OL.
Originality/value: The issue of knowledge management has been an issue of concern in public library literature in recent
years. However, the relationship between knowledge management and organizational learning has not been studied much; In addition, examining this issue among the community of public library librarians of Fars province has been the focus of attention in
the present study. The results of this research can pave the way for library managers to try to improve knowledge and knowledge
management that has led to organizational learning by planning, appropriate policies, and providing standards.
