Leveraging this technology requires identifying its opportunities and challenges. Therefore, this study aims to identify and prioritize the opportunities and challenges of AI in the provision of public library services.<br>Methodology:This research is applied in terms of purpose and employs an exploratory mixed-methods approach. The qualitative phase utilized synthesis research and systematic review methods, while the quantitative phase employed the fuzzy-delphi method. The research population consisted of relevant articles and experts in the fields of AI and public libraries. Data collection tools included checklists and data extraction forms.<br>Findings:A total of 24 opportunities were identified across four main categories: "transformation in services and enhancement of public and reference service quality","optimizing technical services and resource processing","improving management and reducing costs",and"digital services and information technology". Furthermore, 15 challenges were identified across five main categories: "technical and infrastructural challenges","human and skill-related challenges","ethical, legal, and security challenges","financial and economic challenges",and"cultural, organizational, and managerial challenges". According to the delphi results, the most significant opportunity was "analysis of user behavior and information data",while the most significant challenge was the "lack of a macro-level strategy" in public libraries.<br>Originality/Values:This study provides a comprehensive perspective on the application, services, and challenges of implementing AI in public libraries. The adoption of AI can guide public libraries toward transforming into intelligent and innovative learning centers. However, the realization of this vision is only possible if infrastructural, educational, and ethical challenges are addressed. <strong>هدف:</strong> خدمات مبتنی بر هوش مصنوعی اخیراً مورد توجه بسیاری از سازمان‌های خدمت‌رسان نظیر کتابخانه‌های عمومی شده است. بهره‌جویی ازاین فناوری نیازمند شناسایی فرصت‌ها و چالش‌های آن است. ازاین‌رو هدف پژوهش حاضر، شناسایی و اولویت‌بندی فرصت‌ها و چالش‌های هوش مصنوعی در ارائه خدمات کتابخانه‌های عمومی است. <br><strong>روش:</strong> این پژوهش ازنظر هدف، کاربردی و ازنظر رویکرد، ترکیبی از نوع اکتشافی بود. در مرحله کیفی از روش سنتزپژوهی و مرور نظام‌مند و در مرحله کمی از روش دلفی فازی استفاده شد. جامعه پژوهش مشتمل بر مقالات و متخصصین حوزه هوش مصنوعی و کتابخانه‌های عمومی بودند. ابزار گردآوری داده‌ها، سیاهه‌وارسی و فیش‌برداری و شیوه تجزیه‌وتحلیل داده‌ها نیز تحلیل مضمون بود. <br><strong>یافته‌ها:</strong> 24 فرصت در چهار دسته اصلی «فرصت تحول در خدمات و افزایش کیفیت خدمات عمومی و مرجع»، «فرصت بهینه‌سازی خدمات فنی و پردازش منابع»، «فرصت بهبود مدیریت و کاهش هزینه‌ها» و «فرصت خدمات دیجیتال و فناوری اطلاعات» شناسایی شد. همچنین 15 چالش در پنج دسته اصلی «چالش‌های فنی و زیرساختی»، «چالش‌های انسانی و مهارتی»، «چالش‌های اخلاقی، حقوقی و امنیتی»، «چالش‌های مالی و اقتصادی» و «چالش‌های فرهنگی، سازمانی و مدیریتی» شناسایی شد. براساس نتایج دلفی، مهمترین فرصت‌، «تحلیل رفتار کاربران و داده‌های اطلاعاتی» و مهمترین چالش «فقدان راهبرد کلان» در کتابخانه‌های عمومی بود. <br><strong>نتیجه‌گیری:</strong> پژوهش حاضر نگاهی جامع به کاربرد، خدمات و چالش‌های بکارگیری هوش مصنوعی در کتابخانه‌های عمومی دارد. بکارگیری هوش مصنوعی، کتابخانه‌های عمومی را در مسیر تبدیل به مراکز یادگیری هوشمند و نوآور هدایت می‌کند. تحقق این چشم‌انداز تنها درصورتی امکان‌پذیر بوده که به چالش‌های زیرساختی، آموزشی و اخلاقی توجه شود.
