The architectural requirements of public libraries of Hamedan for sensory and motor disabled users

Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the level of compliance of Public Libraries Hamedan with architectural requirements and facilities for disabled users. Method: The research method was analytical survey, and the population consisted of 10 public libraries in the city of Hamedan. Findings: The results showed that the situation of buildings and equipments of public libraries of Hamedan was not in a favorable situation on the basis of indicators of architectural requirement of public libraries. Libraries construction and equipment are ineligible for all three groups of motor disabled, deaf and blind users. Conclusions: The buildings and equipment of public libraries in the city of Hamedan need to be changed and getting right for deaf, blind and motor disabled. All the space and equipment should be renewed and optimized based on the standards of suitable buildings for disabled.
