  The study of corresponding rate of children and young adult's Persian encyclopedias published between 2006-2011 with evaluation criteria of reference books and presenting a model for assessing them

Abstract:
 Aim: the aim of the present study is to evaluating children and young adult's Persian encyclopedias, published during 2006-2011 with evaluation criteria of reference works.
 Methodology: this study is an applied study that is performed by content analysis. The population is 150 titles of published encyclopedias in which evaluated with researcher made checklist.
 Findings: findings show that among of 150 studied titles, 45 titles (30%) were general encyclopedia and 105 titles were special encyclopedia. The highest statistic belongs to 2009 with about 34 titles. Findings show that 71.5 % have been special works and 28.5% were general works. The study of 12 components shows that most of the translated works have not mentioned the aim of work and about 60% were without indexes. Also in 63.6% of written – translated works and 97% of translated works were without a directory. Meanwhile results show that the quality of written encyclopedias is better than written- translated ones.
 Originality: In order to the lack of comprehensive and applied research in the field of encyclopedias, this will study try to corresponding rate of children and young adult's Persian encyclopedias published between 2006-2011 with evaluation criteria of reference books , and at the end it will present a new model for authors, users and publication to select and published suitable works.
